Peach Mango Kale Green Smoothie

If you forced me to tell you what my 2 favourite fruits were, I would have to answer peaches and mangos. I love eating them on their own, but I also love a peach or mango smoothie. Or, in this case, combining the two, throwing in some greens and bam! You have yourself a sweet green smoothie.

Peach season is upon us! That time of year here in Montreal where Ontario peaches are everywhere, at markets and grocery stores. Makes me so happy to see them back. What is sad is how quickly they disappear and remind me that summer is coming closer to an end. A bittersweet feeling since fall is one of my favourite seasons.

Peach season had a special start for me this year. It all started driving through Niagara-on-the-Lake where I was surrounded by peach trees and vines. This was special for me seeing as I had never seen a peach tree before, and peaches are definitely one of my favourite fruit. While driving around there, we came across tons of places to stop by the side of the road and buy fruit straight from the source. When I stopped for peaches, I couldn’t resist the yellow plums and apricots as well.

Those had to be the best apricots I have ever tasted, and quite different from the ones I tasted in Italy earlier this summer. I also couldn’t believe how incredible the yellow plums were, and that I had never tried them before. Keep an eye out for them when you go food shopping this week ,and be sure to buy some.


Seeing as peaches are in season, I had to make a peach smoothie. Honestly, it would be rude not too! Now is the time!

It is so nice to make a smoothie with fresh local fruit, something which can be difficult throughout most of the year here in Montreal.

A lot of people ask for green smoothie recipes that don’t have any banana. This is a delicious and simple banana-free green smoothie recipe for all those people. Enjoy!

Kale Peach Mango Smoothie

Serves: 1-2
  • 1 mango
  • 3 medium peaches
  • 2-3 large kale leaves
  • 1 cup water
  • a few ice cubes
  1. Peel the mango and remove pit.
  2. Remove the pit from the peaches.
  3. Combine the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Makes approximately 4 cups.

    Sounds yummy! I think I’ll use soy milk instead of water and a pinch of chia seeds to up the protein.

  4. A perfect peach is absolutely the best tasting fruit on the planet. Pineapples and Mangos are a close second but a perfect peach? Those take the cake.
