c-punch smoothie recipe | healthishappiness.com

Last year around this time many of us were gearing up for the 30 Day Smoothie Challenge. Spring is a great time to start incorporating smoothies into your diet, and the best time to do a cleanse.  Whether you never have been a smoothie drinker, or you have just fallen off the bandwagon, what are you waiting for!?

Getting your blender out may be just what you need to help do a little internal spring cleaning. It’s time to get outside and get active again. I am very excited that spring is finally here in Montreal, as I am sure others living here and there are too. This has been a particularly long winter.

My friend Leanne Vogel, who you may remember from her 5 Gluten-Free and Vegan Smoothies guest post during the 30 day smoothie challenge last year. She has just released her new Vibrant Life Cleanse Program and Cookbook. This may be just what you need to get on track. Leanne can seriously help you improve your health.

The Vibrant Life Cleanse Program and Cookbook has over 55 dairy-free, vegan & gluten-free juice & smoothie recipes, 7-, 9- and 11- day cleanse programs plus all the tools you need to cleanse with success.

Tell me that doesn’t sound awesome? For those of you who are familiar with Leanne’s blog, Healthful Pursuit, you know that everything she does is awesome. Her recipes are mouth watering and her pictures always stunning!

Some of you may know her because of all the incredible dessert recipes she comes up with. I have tried a few (made by Leanne), and let me tell you, they are to die for. Her Dessert Freedom Cookbook is a must for anyone who loves dessert. She makes healthy desserts without sacrificing any of the delicious tastes we love, and sometimes crave!

The Vibrant Life Cleanse Program & Cookbook is for people that are ready to stop letting cravings rule their lives. On the surface, it’s about juices, smoothies and cleansing. But really, it’s about activating your most radiant self.

This book will show you how to:

  • Effortlessly use juices & smoothies to boost your health
  • Listen to your body and know when you’re legitimately satisfied
  • Move into, through, and out of a cleanse safely, and with shining results

The recipe below is one of the delicious green smoothie recipes from the book. I have tried a few recipes already, and they are awesome!

By purchasing the Vibrant Life Cleanse Program and Cookbook you are helping support all the free content that is found on Healthful Pursuit and Health is Happiness. So thank you for your support, it is much appreciated!

Chocolate, mmmmmm! Everybody loves it, well, almost everybody. I certainly do.

Chocolate comes in many many different forms. Some good, some, not so much.

People love to grab a chocolatey snack in the afternoon. Some people grab a Kit kat, and some people, like myself, grab one of these chocolate almond energy balls.

Coconut Cashew Apricot Energy Bar Recipe

IMG_1725

When I am hungry, really hungry, I need to eat ASAP. When we get to this point when we absolutely need to eat something, we tend to go for whatever is easiest and closest. This is often when we grab something less than ideal health wise just to satisfy our hunger.

A very common solution while at work is to head over to the vending machine around 3 pm for a little pick me up to get through the rest of the day. I know I used to do this when I worked in an office.

This energy bar recipe or others like it are a great way to avoid falling into that trap. When you are prepared for the hunger you can reach for something healthy that is still delicious! And I promise you that these coconut cashew apricot energy bars are just that.

Mango Peach Coconut Water Smoothie

peach mango coconut smoothie

I know what you are thinking? “Is this smoothie as delicious as it looks and sounds?” Well, the answer is yes. It’s lip smacking good. It’s a mango peach coconut water smoothie. Of course it’s amazing!

With only 3 ingredients, it is very simple. Sometimes we get carried away when making smoothies, throwing everything and the kitchen sink into the blender, hoping to get as much into our smoothie as possible. If you do this, you know exactly what I am talking about. It isn’t always the best approach.

When you have exerted a lot of energy, and sweat a ton, the first thing your body needs is to replenish its glucose stores, and electrolytes. What better way to do this than with a delicious fruit and coconut water smoothie! Try drinking a smoothie like this one as soon as possible after your next workout, then follow up with a well balanced meal about 45 minutes to an hour later. Continue reading

Kale Peach Mango Smoothie

Peach Mango Kale Green Smoothie

If you forced me to tell you what my 2 favourite fruits were, I would have to answer peaches and mangos. I love eating them on their own, but I also love a peach or mango smoothie. Or, in this case, combining the two, throwing in some greens and bam! You have yourself a sweet green smoothie.

Peach season is upon us! That time of year here in Montreal where Ontario peaches are everywhere, at markets and grocery stores. Makes me so happy to see them back. What is sad is how quickly they disappear and remind me that summer is coming closer to an end. A bittersweet feeling since fall is one of my favourite seasons.

I am back from my mini vacation to Niagara-on-the-Lake, where I had an absolutely amazing time. It was my first time visiting wineries, so I was pretty excited. I loved the experience and would definitely return.

The original reason for the trip was a wedding, a great excuse to take a few days off, and taste some wine. Don’t you think? Not to mention, it was my birthday.

Coconut Cashew Chia Pudding with Strawberries

Print Friendly

SZxIM

The original idea for this recipe came from Anna (a coworker) who asked if I was making a special smoothie for Canada day (July1). She had been disappointed when I had made nothing for our provincial holiday on June 24 (St. Jean Baptiste). I loved the idea and was excited to create something yummy that was red and white like the Canadian flag.

When Anna made the suggestion, I immediately thought of strawberries since they are in season. I liked the idea of making a dessert, a change from smoothies, not to mention it’s difficult to make a smoothie that is 2 colours. Thank you Anna for inspiring this dessert! I love it! (and I hope you do too!) Continue reading
