Moksha 30 Day Challenge & Grow Your Yoga

img_158_0

Todays post is a guest post written by Lindsay McCusky.  Lindsay is a Moksha Yoga teacher here in Montreal, as well as a restorative yoga teacher.

Last year Lindsay created an awesome smoothie challenge within the Moksha community.  This year  we are teaming up to bring you the Health is Happiness 30 Day Smoothie Challenge. I am very  excited to  be working with Lindsay on promoting the challenge.  If you are into yoga there is another  great challenge happening in the month of May called Grow Your Yoga.

Maybe you are up for both!?

Hello everybody!

May 1st we begin our 30 day yoga challenge at Moksha yoga West Island, NDG and Montreal. In addition to the 30 day challenge, we also have another campaign running called Grow Your Yoga; a campaign designed to help “grow your yoga” on and off your mat while raising money to support the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.

Often we think that yoga can only be practiced in a studio when in reality you can practice yoga absolutely anywhere you choose! I passionately believe Yoga is more about the inner connection to self in any given moment or situation. On that note, I know that being intimately connected to yourself helps you become more aware of your body and your health. During the 30 Day Challenge, you are “challenged” to make it onto your mat for 30 days. During those 30 days, you can experience some incredible changes which is why Kieran and I have decided to partner up. Together, we would like to support and help you with what you are putting in your body.

I created a smoothie challenge last year and felt amazing after the 30 days and also got great feedback. I know when I am tired I don’t always make optimal food choices or if I am in a rush I might grab something to eat which in the end physically and mentally lowers my energy . Throughout the years I have struggled with an eating disorder and know that I am not alone. I know how important is it to “nourish your soul”. I strongly believe it starts with what you put in your body. Proper nutrition is key to a healthy and happy life, hence “Health is Happiness” – good one Kieran!!! Truthfully, the combination of yoga and smoothies has helped transform my health. So let’s get together this month and support one another to live a Healthier and Happier life!!!

With the smoothie support page on FB, Kieran and I will be here to help along the way with recipes and tips. Let’s do this, come sweat it up at Moksha yoga. I am crazy excited for this. We are confident only good things can come out of taking care of your health, surrounding yourself with positive people, and coming together as a loving community to help make the world a better place!

Health is Happiness 30 Day Smoothie Challenge

30day_blog

Hello Smoothie Lovers!

I am super excited to share this with everybody.

Health is Happiness’s first 30 Day Smoothie Challenge. A smoothie a day for 30 days is the name of the game! The challenge starts May 1st and ends May 30th.

Smoothies, particularly green smoothies, were a huge part of my transition to a healthier lifestyle.

Believe it or not, when I was younger I didn’t like greens or even most vegetables. Knowing how far I have come and how my tastes have changed is proof that anyone can make the transition to a healthier lifestyle. I truly believe that healthy smoothies are one of the best ways to help you get there. Smoothies are the easiest, not to mention one of the most delicious and easy ways to significantly increase the amount of fruit and super greens in ones diet.

This is why I am super excited to launch this 30 Day Challenge. I hope it can help others make the transition I made. If you are looking to make some healthy changes in your diet, then please sign up for this challenge! Just enter your name and e-mail address below and check the 30 Day Smoothie Challenge Box.

What is a smoothie challenge?

For this challenge all you have to do is drink one healthy smoothie a day. One smoothie serving should be approximately 500 ml/2 cups. I often drink more in a day if I am having a green smoothie as my breakfast. Do whatever works best for you.

This is not a fast or cleanse where you limit the amount of food you eat. You will not go hungry. The focus is on adding healthy foods to your diet not removing the bad ones. Eventually the healthy foods will crowd out the un-healthy ones.

Progress is what we are all striving for. This means do your best! If you miss a day for whatever reason, simply get back on track the next day.

Potential Benefits of 30 Day Smoothie Challenge

  • weight loss
  • detoxification
  • increased energy
  • improved digestion
  • clearer skin
  • improved mood

Warning: You may start to crave healthy foods!

What happens when you sign up?

I have put together a Getting Started E-book that you will receive when you sign-up for the challenge! You will also receive weekly emails with tips, motivation, and recipe ideas.

There is also a Facebook group for everyone doing the challenge where you are encouraged to share your recipes, smoothie pics, ask questions and talk about how amazing you are feeling.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via the Health is Happiness Facebook page. If you use Instagram be sure to share your smoothie challenge photos and use #hihsmoothiechallenge
